Fall Webworms
- Native to North America
- usually are seen in the late summer/fall
- create web “tents” on the tips of tree branches
- adult moth lay eggs on the underside of leaves
- eggs hatch in about a week
- larvae feed on the leaves inside the web “tent”
- larvae stage last about 4-6 weeks
- maximum length is 35mm
- colors range from pale yellow to dark gray with yellow spots
- not known to cause serious damage to trees
